If any portion of the flight is to be operated during hours of darkness, navigation lights must be on. During hours of darkness, turn on logo lights. Place the wheel well switch to NORMAL.

The anti-skid switch is to be off for start and taxi. Check the anti-skid system as follows: - With brakes parked, note that parking brake light is on and that no release indication appears. - Place main anti-skid switch on. No release indicators should appear. - Place test switch to INBD. Check both outboard indicators indicate release. - Return test switch to OFF. Either inboard indicator may show a release indicator momentarily when switch is returned to OFF. - Place test switch to OUTBD. Check both inboard indicators indicate release. Return test switch to OFF. Either outboard indicator may show a release indication momentarily when switch is returend to OFF. - Return the main anti-skid switch to OFF.

Press the test switch. Check all lights on except the monitor power and altitude lights. Release test switch. Check all lights out.

Press either pull-up light. Check that both pull-up lights come on, and that the aural warning is heard from the cockpit speakers.
27 - FLIGHT INSTURMENT SELECTORS
ALL NO. 1
Check horizon, deviation, compass, and flight director command selector switches in No. 1 position.
28 - MACH/AIRSPEED WARNING

A clacker sounds in each position of the test switch.
29 - CENTRAL AIR DATA
CHECKED
Note that the baro flag is not in view on either captain's or first officer's altimeter and that there are no fail flags in SAT, TAS or mach indicators.

Check lever is in the detent.
32 - TAKEOFF WARNING

Advance the number three throttle and check for operation of the takeoff warning horn.
33 - STABILIZER TRIM
CHECKED & ON
Place both stabilizer trim pedestal switches to CUTOUT. Check that stabilizer will not move when either stabilizer trim switch or the stabilizer cruise trim switch is moved in each direction. Return manual trim handles to the stowed position and return both stabilizer trim pedestal switches to NORMAL. Check operation of both stabilizer trim switches and the stabilizer cruise trim switch in each direction, noting direction of stabilizer trim wheel rotation.
34 - AUTOPILOT

- Select autopilot servo selector to mode B. - Engage the autopilot. - Operate turn knob. Check proper aileron response of control wheel. - Operate pitch knob/vertical speed wheel. check proper stabilizer trim and response of elevator control column. - Place altitude hold switch on. Check that pitch knob is now ineffective. - Press autopilot disengage switch. Check autopilot has idengaged and flight controls are free. Check disengaged lights out. - Select elevator servo to mode A westbound, mode B eastbound.
35 - FLIGHT DIRECTOR
CHECKED
- Select heading mode on captain's and first officer's flight directors.
- Turn the heading control on each CDI to the left and right of the lubber line. Check command bars indicate a command to turn toward selected heading. - Rotate pitch command knob. Check that command bar shows proper pitch altitude. - Engage altitude hold switch. Check ALT flag in HDI, command bar indicates level, and pitch command knob ineffective. - Select captain's flight director command switch to number 2 position. - Turn first officer's heading control to the left and right of lubber line. Check the captain's command bar indicates the same angle of bank as first officer's command bar. - Press the captain's autopilot release switch. Check both flight director mode selectors return to SC. Check both command bars reflect the speed command mode. - Select captain's flight director command switch to number 1 position. - Check captain's and first officer's slow-fast indicator fail flags retract and both pointers indicate slow. Note both command bars show the same degree of fly-down command. - Engage autothrust. Check that all throttles move forward. - Press first officer's autopilot release switch. Check autothrust disengages and disengage light flashes. Press light to cancel.
36 - TRIM TABS
CHECKED
Check aileron and rudder trim tab for freedom and return to desired position.
37 - OXY MASK & REGULATOR
CHECKED & EMERG OFF
Check emergency oxygen: Place all regulator levers to the up position. Check flow indicator for continuous oxygen flow. Place emergency lever to OFF. Oxygen flow should stop. Check regulator: Place supply lever to ON. Oxygen flow should be indicated. Place supply lever to NORMAL.
