# RTE

Press **RTE**. After [NAV IDENT](/e-jet-series/mcdu-guide/basics.md) has been shown once, the MCDU opens **ACT RTE**.

Edits switch the page to **MOD**. **ACTIVATE** (LSK 6R) makes the modification active. **CANCEL** (LSK 6L, when a MOD exists) reverts.

## Route fields

| LSK | Field     | Function                                                                                              |
| --- | --------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 1L  | ORIGIN    | Departure ICAO. Clearing origin starts a MOD.                                                         |
| 1R  | DEST      | Destination ICAO.                                                                                     |
| 2R  | ALTN DEST | Alternate (shown when DEST is set).                                                                   |
| 5R  | FLIGHT ID | Callsign / flight number.                                                                             |
| 3L  | DLK FPL   | Opens the datalink flight-plan list when an OFP is available.                                         |
| 4L  | SEND      | Requests a flight plan (SimBrief or MSFS). Status shows **SENDING** while the request is in progress. |

Bottom-line prompts change with context: **DEPARTURE**, **ARRIVAL**, **PERF INIT**, **FPL LIST**, **ACTIVATE**, **CANCEL**.

**PREV / NEXT** page through the ACT RTE legs (and the alternate route when a destination is set).

## Departure

From RTE, **DEPARTURE** opens the departure page.

1. Select **RUNWAY**.
2. Select **SID**, then **SID TRANS** if required.
3. **APPLY** inserts the procedure into the MOD plan. **CLEAR SEL** clears the selection.
4. **TAKEOFF** jumps to the takeoff performance page.

## Arrival

From RTE, **ARRIVAL** opens the arrival page.

1. Select destination **RUNWAY**.
2. Select **APPROACH** and **APPROACH TRANS** if required.
3. Select **STAR** and **STAR TRANS** if required.
4. **APPLY** inserts the procedure. **LANDING** jumps to landing performance.

## SimBrief / world-map import

**SEND** on RTE loads the latest SimBrief route into a MOD plan (SID and STAR are not imported — select them on DEPARTURE / ARRIVAL).
