Before Takeoff

01 - ICING CONSIDERATIONS

Within 5 minutes of takeoff, evaluate anti-ice requirements. Conduct a Pretakeoff Check or Pretakeoff Contamination Check as needed. Conduct engine runups as required for use of engine anti-ice prior to takeoff.

02 - IGNITION

ON

Use continuous ignition for takeoff, and if there is standing water, slush, or wet snow on the runway, place the engine start control switches to FLIGHT.

03 - ANTI-SKID

04 - STROBE LIGHTS

05 - TRANSPONDER

ON

06 - APU LIGHT

07 - BOOST PUMPS & CROSSFEED VALVES

ON & CHECKED

Check all boost pumps on. Close number 1 and 3 crossfeed valves and open number 2 crossfeed valve.

08 - OIL COOLER

CHECKED

Place switch to GROUND OFF at beginning of takeoff roll. Switch trips back to NORMAL after liftoff. Do not leave switch in ground off position for mor than 30 seconds if takeoff is delayed or rejected.

09 - AIR CONDITIONING PANEL

CHECKED & SET

Place the number 2 bleed switches to CLOSE and observe a decrease in manifold pressure. Place pack switches to OPEN one at a time and check electrical power meters for each fan starting load. Place pressure indicator selector to PACK and note normal pressures. Return the engine bleed valves to the takeoff configuration in sufficient time to allow the APU to run for approximately two minutes with no air load before shutdown.

10 - AUTO PACK TRIP

The auto pack trip control switch must be in NORMAL for takeoff when the actual aircraft weight is within 2,900 pounds of the maximum takeoff weight. As the thrust of all engines is increased above approximately 1.50 EPR, check the green ARMED light on.
